DARK WOODS

I try to see the sunshine
Filter through the trees
I try to turn the hurricane
Into a gentle breeze

But no matter how hard I try
The dark woods hide the light
The wizened trees of doubt
Turn my daylight into night

The foliage looms above me
And blackens out the sky
There's a deathly silence
And I never quite know why

I hear noises in the darkness
They whisper all my woes
I feel a million eyes on me
That belong to unseen foes

I can't escape these woods
They're far too dark and thick
Although I see the sun sometimes
It disappears too quick
